Database DevOps Microsoft MVP - 1 of 6 worldwide, pretty cool!

Feb 02, 2026

MVP Recognition could look like a trophy from a distance.

Up close it looks like:

  • late nights finishing a demo because your brain won’t let it go
  • travel days that blur into each other
  • rewriting a paragraph five times because you know you can explain it more clearly

That’s the work. Not glamorous. Just what I enjoy doing. And then one day it adds up.

It ended with Magnus Ahlkvist nominating me, but it really started with everyone who:

  • listened to a talk
  • read a post
  • asked a sharp question
  • challenged an assumption
  • kept a discussion alive when it could’ve ended with “cool.”
  • viewed a video, and liked it

Then came the MVP paperwork… and the waiting (up to 90 days).

And then: a notification.

I’d been recognized as a Microsoft MVP in Database DevOps. Apparently I’m 1 of 6 worldwide. Pretty cool.

Not something I ever set as a target. Not a checkbox on a yearly plan. Just a moment where the community taps you on the shoulder and says: “Yep. We see you.”

So: thank you.

And honestly? I’m proud. Not in a look-at-me way. More in a I can’t believe this came from just showing up over and over again way.
